Passion Conference 2012
Children in Hagar Cambodia's recovery shelters will benefit from the amazing generosity of 42,000 college students. Christians 18-to-25 converged at Atlanta's Georgia Dome, January 2 - 5. An annual event, Passion Conference brought young people together from all over the United States. This year's Passion Conference broke all records, with attendance double that of past years. Watch CNN's coverage of the event (three minutes):
Speakers, worship, and prayer all focused on human trafficking. As part of the four-day event, students were encouraged to give generously to five organizations engaged in the fight against slavery. Hagar was one of them. Through generous and sacrifical giving, more than $3 million was raised. At Hagar, 25 children from backgrounds of sex and labor trafficking, forced begging, and domestic servitude will be transformed through this generosity. We were honored to witness and participate in this event.
