Financial Accountability
At Hagar, we treasure every donor. We value every gift. We know that you have many choices when you choose to make a charitable donation. When you donate to Hagar, we promise to be good stewards of the money entrusted to us.
Hagar USA is a 501c3 organization that exists to support the work of Hagar International, in Cambodia, Afghanistan, and Vietnam. Your gifts are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. We adhere to the highest standards of financial accountability, and an independent accounting firm audits Hagar USA accounts annually.
Specific information about Hagar’s finances is available on our Form 990 (the form which U.S. tax-exempt organizations file annually with the Internal Revenue Service) and our 2010 audited financial statements:

Because Hagar USA annual revenues have not exceeded $1 million, we are not yet rated on common charity rating systems (i.e. Charity Navigator). However, you can visit www.guidestar.org for some additional information about our financial status.
We also have other endorsements that validate our good stewardship practices. Every year, multiple discerning foundations, corporate donors and the US government entrust us with growing amounts of financial support, after examining our financial records. We are also an approved charity for the US Federal Government’s corporate giving program, the Combined Federal Campaign.
