Why Rise

Rise to the Challenge

We are excited to bring to you Hagar USA’s first ever ‘virtual challenge’, RISE FOR FREEDOM. This is an event like no other, where supporters will choose their own challenge to complete locally, to raise funds for survivors of slavery, human trafficking and abuse globally. These are survivors of trauma that Hagar walk with each day in Cambodia, Vietnam and Afghanistan.

No matter your fitness level, this event welcomes all! You can choose your own location, activity (e.g. ride, walk, run, swim, hike) and distance (e.g. 1k, 3k, 5k, 10k) to complete.  If you are at a loss for the distance, you could do 4.3k or 40.3k to recognize the 40.3 million people living in slavery today. All you need to do is finish the challenge somewhere between sunRISE and sunset on Saturday, November 14 2020.

Over the past few years, Hagar supporters have come together from across the globe to ‘Run for Freedom’, as part of the Angkor Wat International Half Marathon. However, due to the current health concerns and travel restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to turn this iconic event VIRTUAL!

It’s time to RISE to break the force of injustice.
